Handiedan

Dutch artist Handiedan creates intricate mixed media collages that merge hand cut paper layers, digital composition, vintage ephemera, antique ornaments, personal notes, augmented reality and found frames into richly detailed visual worlds. Her work moves between the intimate and the cosmic, bringing together memory, mythology, transformation and the hidden patterns of life.

Visual archives of history, memory and imagined futures

In Handiedan’s collages, the feminine energy of Mother Earth, present in both men and women, is woven together with fragments of history, personal traces and imagined futures. Some details reveal themselves instantly, while others remain hidden in plain sight, waiting to be discovered. Handiedan has worked as a full time mixed media artist since 2007. Her artwork has been shown in galleries and museums throughout the world, as well as outside the gallery through large scale wheat paste installations.
