Logan Hicks 'New Eyes / Old Hands'

  • Ambassade Art Gallery Oude Spiegelstraat 7 Amsterdam (map)

For his latest exhibition, internationally acclaimed stencil artist Logan Hicks returns to Amsterdam with ‘New Eyes / Old Hands’, new work that reflects a long-standing dialogue between the artist and the city that has shaped his practice over many years.

Having returned to the city throughout his career, Hicks has developed a deep connection to its layered architecture, historic streets and enduring relationship with flowers. In New Eyes / Old Hands, he revisits these influences with a renewed perspective, combining the curiosity of discovery with the technical mastery he has honed over decades.

Hicks is known for his painstaking multilayer stencil process, which blurs the lines between painting, printmaking and photography. Each piece is built through multiple layers of stencils, requiring precision, patience and an almost meditative commitment to craft. The works on view draw from Amsterdam’s historic façades and floral legacy, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens where past and present coexist in tension and harmony, with color and light in the tradition of the Old Masters.

We warmly welcome you to the Opening Reception on 28 March. More details to follow soon.
