Opening Handiedan ‘UBIQUITOUS’

Ambassade Art Gallery proudly invites you to the opening of UBIQUITOUS, a new solo exhibition by Dutch artist Handiedan.

For this exhibition, Handiedan turns her attention to a figure that has accompanied her practice for more than twenty years. Amelie first appeared in her work in 2001 and has remained a recurring presence ever since, moving quietly through drawings, collages, and layered compositions.

In UBIQUITOUS, that presence becomes the starting point. Handiedan brings Amelie forward and builds the exhibition around a character who has grown alongside her own artistic development. The works move between intimacy and ornament, personal history and constructed imagery, revealing a side of her practice that has until now remained largely beneath the surface.

The exhibition opens on Saturday, 3 October, at Ambassade Art Gallery, Oude Spiegelstraat 7, Amsterdam.
